Babybeach is a project inspired by the natural world, and the beings which inhabit it. Growing up on the coast of Northern CA, I have always loved the feeling of finding a perfect hidden beach - a place to play and be free. That inspiration brought me here.
I paint, draw and throw what I see and what I’ve felt. Everything I make is infused with my effort, good thought and intention. The process is grounding, fulfilling and joyful. The objects created are meant to inspire a slow grounding moment, bring beauty to everyday life, and offer some inspiration and protection when you need it.
This summer, I participated in the Sanchez Art Center's 2026 50 | 50 Exhibition - accepting the challenge of creating 50 small works in 50 days. What came from this was a practice in pause within a fast paced, busy world - in both the creation and the end result. In each of my bowls, I attempt to capture the small moments that stick with you, and invite you to take a breath and go inwards. In the process of painting 50 bowls over 50 days, they became a sort of journal of musings and snippets of what I was thinking about at the time. Taking time, taking a breath, waiting before moving has been on my mind. I painted things I have seen, places I have been and things I have felt. I hope that these bowls inspire peace, the understanding that there is mystery in every moment, and bring beauty every day.
